Competition Terms and Conditions
2027 Star Insure Calendar Competition
Entry into the 2027 Star Insure Calendar Competition (“the Competition”) is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
1. Promoter: The promoter of this competition is Rusty Media Ltd, in partnership with Star Insurance Ltd (trading as Star Insure).
2. Competition Period: a. The Competition opens at 12:00 am (NZST) on Friday, 3 July 2026 and closes at 5:00 pm (NZST) on Friday, 31 July 2026 (“Competition Period”). b. No entries will be accepted outside of the Competition Period.
3. Eligibility: a. Entry is open to New Zealand residents. b. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, its associated companies, any brokers and agencies associated with this Competition are ineligible to enter. c. Entrants must be the legal owner of the vehicle depicted in the photograph submitted. d. By entering, participants confirm they own the copyright to the submitted images and have permission from any relevant parties to enter the photographs.
4. How to Enter: a. To enter, participants must email one (1) photograph of their vehicle to [email protected]. b. The email subject line must be: “2027 Star Insure Calendar Competition Entry”. c. Only one entry is permitted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
5. Entry Requirements & Content: a. The photograph must be submitted in a digital format (e.g., JPEG, PNG) and should be in a landscape orientation. High-resolution images are required for printing, around 4000 pixels wide by 2500 pixels high at 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch). This is the standard for most print materials, ensuring sharp and clear images. b. The photograph must be the entrant’s own original work and must not infringe on the copyright or intellectual property rights of any third party. c. The photograph must not contain any people, animals or other vehicles. d. If any other vehicles are clearly identifiable in the photograph, the entrant warrants that they have obtained permission from the owners of those vehicles to be included in the submission. e. The photograph must not contain any defamatory, offensive, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate content. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry it deems to be in breach of this condition. f. Include all requested information as specified in the competition details, including full name, postal address, phone number, and vehicle year, make, and model. g. Rusty Media Ltd and Star Insure Ltd accept no responsibility for lost, late, incomplete, corrupted, or misdirected entries, or for any technical issues affecting entry submission.
6. Judging and Winner Selection: a. This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winners. b. All valid entries will be judged by a panel selected by the Promoter including the Editor of NZ Classic Car magazine, based on creativity, photographic quality, composition, originality and suitability for the 2027 Star Insure Calendar theme. c. Judging will take place on 3 August 2026. d. A total of thirteen (13) winning entries will be selected. e. The judges’ decision is final. No correspondence or discussion will be entered into regarding the judging process or the outcome of the competition.
7. The Prize: a. Thirteen (13) winning photographs will be selected for publication. b. One (1) standout entry will receive cover placement on both the 2027 Star Insure Calendar and the December issue of NZ Classic Car magazine. c. The remaining twelve (12) selected photographs will each feature across the calendar’s monthly pages. d. The 2027 Star Insure Calendar will be issued free with every copy of the December issue of NZ Classic Car magazine. e. Entrants of the thirteen (13) winning photographs will receive one (1) complimentary copy of the 2027 Star Insure Calendar via post to the postal address they provide with the competition entry details. f. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash.
8. Winner Notification: a. The winners will be notified via the email address used for entry on or by Wednesday, 5th August 2026. b. Winners must respond to the notification email to claim their prize within five (5) working days. c. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim their prize within this period, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and select a new winner from the pool of valid entries.
9. Image Rights and Intellectual Property: a. By entering the Competition, each entrant retains copyright in their submitted photograph. b. However, each entrant grants the Promoter (Rusty Media Ltd, Star Insure and its related entities) a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, publish, adapt, communicate, and display the photograph for an unlimited period in any media, for purposes connected with the Competition and for future marketing and promotional purposes without further payment or permission. This includes, but is not limited to, use in: i. The 2027 Star Insure Calendar. ii. December issue of NZ Classic Car magazine. iii. Marketing and promotional materials of Rusty Media Ltd and Star Insure. iv. Social media channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram), EDMs and websites of Rusty Media Ltd and Star Insure. c. The entrant agrees that the Promoter may credit them by name as the photographer but that failure to do so will not constitute a breach of these terms.
10. Privacy: a. The Promoter will collect entrants’ personal information (full name, postal address, phone number, and vehicle year, make, model and photograph) in order to conduct the Competition. b. By entering, the entrant consents to the storage of their personal information on the Promoter’s database and to the Promoter using this information for the purposes outlined in Clause 9, and as detailed in Star Insure’s Privacy Policy, which can be viewed at starinsure.co.nz/privacy-policy.

11. General Conditions: a. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. b. The Promoter is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) as a result of entering the Competition or accepting a prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law. c. If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition.
12. Acceptance of Terms: Submission of an entry constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
